New infatuation

Beads beads beads. It's all about the beads now. Still baking, I really would rather be out in the garage melting glass into beads.

So I have been crocheting necklaces with beads strung on the thread into really beautiful ropes. My grandmother had given my sisters and I some when we were much younger and being teenagers, I never thought about the work and detail that went into them. Sadly she passed away before my interest was sparked. A few years ago, I pulled out the necklace and began wearing in. Next thing I knew, I was in Bead Paradise in Oberlin, buying hanks of different beads, I was online(don't you just love utube) watching videos on how to make this necklace, and so far, I have made probably 7 necklaces. Well, as I looked for inspiration on ebay for the focal beads to accent the ends of my necklaces, I thought..... heck can I do this too?

Back to utube for more video instruction, switch to ebay to order a starter kit and voila....I am addicted to molten hot glass.

Gotta love the hubs...he saw how excited I was and built me a work bench in the garage to set up my station, I am taken back by his enthusiasm for me to be successful in this new endeavor.

So baking has become beads. He is missing the goodies, so every now and then, I will toss in some chocolate anything and he smiles.

If you ever want to look for me on a day off from Macy's, check the garage. If the music is blasting, chances are I am in there, just make sure you put on goggles when you walk in.
